Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre

The Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre (RMBT) repertory presents a diverse array of dance styles. RMBT’s international programming includes Native American Montana dancers who perform Salish-Kootenai fancy dances, shawl dance, jingle dance, and an award-winning Blackfeet Nation chicken dance. Artistic Director Charlene Carey has created several contemporary and classical ballets inspired by the environment and cultural treasures such as the “Wild Montana Turkey,” the majestic “Englemann Spruce” and the “MT Cowgirl Kickline.” These dances utilize ballet, tap, and hip hop styles and techniques that portray our place in the world. The dancers embody the energy, enthusiasm, and spirit of the Great American West. RMBT’s dances and performers engage audiences without words, but with movement that speaks to everyone through common values such as nature and iconic images of the West.

Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre’s mission is to offer important opportunities to the youth of Montana with training, performing, and cultural exchanges and to enrich the quality of life in Montana through its original, unique Montana-themed programming that is presented throughout Montana, the US, and internationally.
